HISTORY OF THE BJMP-NCR REGIONAL OFFICE

The BJMP-NCR Office was activated September 27, 1992. The first officer to act as the OIC of the Regional Office was J/CINSP REYNALDO ERLANO who belongs to the group of the first 500 personnel absorbed by the Jail Bureau through the implementation of R.A No. 6975. He held his office at the Manila City Jail since he was also the first City Jail Warden of said jail which was turned over by the PNP to the control of BJMP on September 27, 1992.

On November 1992 a month after the activation of the National Capital; Regional Office J/SSUPT HERNAN PLOTEÑA was designated as the first Assistant Regional Director. He then transferred the NCR Office at Camp Bagong Diwa, Taguig occupying the Administration Building of Metro Manila Rehabilitation Center. After a month on January 1993, J/SSUPT MARIANO RICO replaced J/SSUPT HERMAN PLOTEÑA since he retired from the service on December 1992. Upon his assumption as ARD-NCR he transferred the NCR Office at the BJMP-Central Office located at Vargas Building 103 Kalaayaan Avenue, Diliman, Quezon City since at the same time he was the Deputy Chief, BJMP. A year after J/SSUPT ARNULFO GARCIANO replaced J/SSUPT MARIANO RICO since the staffing pattern has already been completed. From Central Office the NCRO was again transferred to another place located at the Camp Bagong Diwa, Taguig occupying one of the buildings of the Jail National Training Institute.

More than a year after on 1995, then J/SSUPT SILAS V LAURIO replaced J/SSUPT ARNULFO GARCIANO who retired from the uniform service. Less than a year after he vacated the ARD position since he was appointed to replace the Chief, BJMP who retired from the service.

Since the ARD-NCR was vacated sometime on 1996 J/SSUPT MIGUEL BERNANTE was appointed ARD-NCR at the same time concurrent Deputy Chief, BJMP. He holds his office at VSI Condominium, which is located at Kalayaan Avenue, Diliman, Quezon City near the BJMP Central Office.

After a year from 1998 J/SSUPT TEMISTOCLES L JAMISOLAMIN was appointed as the seventh (7th) NCR Assistant Regional Director for more than two (2) years. He transferred the NCRO from Kalayaan Avenue to Oroville Condominium 103 Benitez St., Cubao, Quezon City.

After more than two (2) years a general revamp took place where J/SSUPT VICENTE E ENCARNACION replaced him on July 2000 as the eight (8th) ARD. Another general revamp of the ARDs were undertaken with the DILG on the helm where J/SSUPT CLARITO G JOVER replaced him on September 3, 2002 who become the ninth (9th) ARD. When BJMP Central Office relocated to Mindanao Avenue, BJMP-NCR was transferred back to Kalayaan Avenue in Diliman at the same building vacated by the BJMP Central office on May 15, 2003.

During the term of SSUPT JOVER, there was an offer for a rent-to-own building situated at Project 7, Quezon City thus, on October 15, 2004, NCR Office transferred to Bago Bantay, Project 7. In anticipation for the promotion of JSSUPT JOVER to the next rank as Chief Superintendent he was assigned as Deputy Chief for Operations at the Central Office. He was replaced by CSUPT ARMANDO M LLAMASARES as the tenth (10TH) Assistant Regional Director of the NCR where ARD position at that time was elevated to Regional Director.
